Bio-based packaging and corporate sustainability

Corporate sustainability is a trend that is also turning the spotlight on packaging and companies want to be able to make choices that fit within their specific corporate sustainability policy.
In this context more and more companies are using Bio-based materials to package (some) of their products.
Van der Windt supplies packaging made from renewable raw materials such as (corn)starch or bio-mass and from fibrous materials such as sugar cane and palm fibres.
The characteristics of PLA (Poly Lactic Acid) material are comparable to those of PP plastic. PLA is completely transparent and suitable for (flowpack) film, sleeves, dishes and disposables such as drinking cups, plates and cutlery. The Wenterra® material, which is made from (corn)starch, is comparable to PE and ideally suited for the manufacture of many products including garbage bags.

NatureflexTM is a film based on cellulose with a wide seal range.
The characteristics of the bio-based products make them ideally suited for packaging a broad range of products including fruit and vegetables, flowers and plants. A wide range of dishes, disposables, (flowpack) films, sleeves, labels and carrier bags is available. The renewable materials are very easy to print, which means your own design is possible.
