Nursery De Westlandse Aardbei has been growing strawberries under glass since 2003. The company, which has 14,000 square meters of glasshouse, is run by Jaco and Sandra Huysman. The strawberries are grown in an environmentally-friendly way and are harvested in the traditional manner. Quality, taste, ripeness and most definitely freshness are of paramount importance. The strawberries go to local bakers, greengrocers and restaurants via several channels including the Best of Four. The public can buy ‘fresh today' strawberries from a vending machine.
