Willem&Drees: honest business
![]() |
Willem&Drees brings potatoes, vegetables and fruit from local farmers to local shops. The company was founded by Willem Treep and Drees Peter van den Bosch who, after 10 years working for multinationals, decided to build-up an honest business. Willem&Drees searches out growers within a 40 kilometre radius of the point of sale. The products are collected from the growers then transported, as quickly as possible, to a shop in the area. Once in the shop the products are displayed in wooden crates or else in packaging that is so clear and specific that the consumer can see which product comes from which grower. The Company only works with seasonal products that are grown outside or in a cold greenhouse. This means the products are grown organically or sustainably. When it started in 2009 the Company supplied 10 shops. Today over 100 shops sell the products supplied by Willem&Drees. The developments look promising. Several large supermarket chains and catering companies also want to stand out by using locally grown products. In Van der Windt Verpakking Willem&Drees has found an ideal supplier when it comes to the operational management of the orders for the various growers. Van der Windt's logistics apparatus offers Willem&Drees a range of options to ensure the growers receive the packaging materials at the right time. Van der Windt offers a wide range of packaging materials and, because its employees have an in-depth knowledge of packaging and customers' needs, the right packaging can be supplied for every product. Van der Windt not only supplies traditional packaging it takes the lead in the development of new forms of packaging. New print designs can also be developed in Van der Windt's in-house studio. |
