ZESPRI® Green Organic Kiwifruit in PLA bio plastics

In addition to the well-known ZESPRI® Green and ZESPRI® Gold ranges, for many years ZESPRI has also offered a ZESPRI® Green Organic range. This is the recognised quality of ZESPRI® Kiwifruit that is also grown with the utmost respect for the environment. The kiwis are grown without the use of any chemical or synthetic additives. Some natural aids, such as compost and algae, are deemed acceptable. These organic kiwis are strictly controlled by BIO-GRO in New Zealand and EU control organisations in Europe. It goes without saying that this new product deserves an innovative and bio-based packaging and Van der Windt Packaging, which has worked with ZESPRI for many years, has established itself as a packaging specialist, particularly in the field of bio-based packaging materials. The packaging selected for this range comprises a tray and a micro-perforated flowpack film both made of bio-degradable PLA (Poly Lactic Acid). This means the product has been given the packaging it deserves and both ZESPRI and Van der Windt are contributing towards a better environment. |
